A criminal law firm was hit by an arson attack following reports of an explosion at a nearby Legal Aid office.
An alleged arsonist attacked the Gosford office of Conditsis Lawyers from the entrance corridor at about 2.30pm on Thursday, 5 December.
The office is located in the Kensmen Building, just across the road from the Gosford Local Court on NSW’s Central Coast.
In a statement, the law firm – which specialises in criminal, family, and wills and estates – said no staff were harmed.
NSW Police confirmed no injuries were reported, but a 54-year-old man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
It followed reports of “several explosions” and a fire at the nearby Legal Aid NSW office, located inside the courthouse.
“We understand that the fire was contained at both offices once staff had been evacuated and that the Legal Aid’s staff are also accounted for and unharmed,” Conditsis Lawyers said.
“We commend the swift response of emergency services and hope the police apprehend the culprit responsible for this disturbing incident soon.”
A manhunt is underway for a man in his 60s, who was described as being of short stature, chubby build, wearing a face covering, a black T-shirt, dark pants and shoes, and a dark cap.
