The University Library includes the central Dixson Library and Learning Commons and the Law Library  and is responsible for the University?s Archives and Heritage Centre. The Library actively tailors its  services to the needs of users and houses physical library collections of close to a million volumes.

About the role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Librarian to join the UNE team as Director, Library Services  and University Librarian has become available. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic

Innovation), the position provides leadership and overall management of the University Library and plays a pivotal role in engaging and contributing to learning, teaching and research matters, across the  University. This opportunity comes at a time in which UNE is redeveloping its physical and virtual  infrastructure and reconceiving its services as part of a shared student services model across the  university. It therefore offers considerable challenge and reward for a results-driven strategic library  leader.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in the application of information and

communications technologies and experience in strategic leadership at a senior level. Significant

experience in budget planning and management and policy development and implementation is

essential. In addition, candidates will be eligible for professional membership of the Australian

Library and Information Association (ALIA).
