Australia: Adelaide Law School teams up with Department of Defence

Kicking off a new partnership, the Adelaide Law School has signed a contract to provide legal education services to the Commonwealth Department of Defence.

In exciting news for the university, legal officers from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) will complete three new postgraduate courses offered at the Adelaide Law School. In announcing this new development, the Law School said it would offer education in military administrative, discipline and operations law.

The three postgraduate courses will count towards a new graduate certificate in military law. Additionally, some legal officers studying under the contract will also undertake electives from existing law offerings to complete a master of laws.

“This contract reinforces the leading teaching and research already undertaken by the Law School, and in particular the research unit on military law and ethics, in key fields relating to military law and national security law,” the university explained.
