Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a talented professional to fill the role of Associate Legal Counsel in our Asia/Pacific regional office. The Associate Legal Counsel will focus predominantly on providing legal counsel to HFHI departments regarding communication, interpretation, and guidance in establishment and practice of organizational policies. This position is based at our Asia/Pacific regional office in Bangkok, Thailand.
Responsibilities include:
– Cooperate with and assist the Asia/Pacific Area Vice President and Area Management Team with providing legal counsel to affiliates, regional support centers, and national offices
– Work closely with the Legal department at HFHI headquarters in the USA
– Assist with providing legal counsel to affiliates, regional support centers, and national offices
– Manage, coordinates and reports on legal resources which serve affiliates, regional support centers and national office
– Work with outside counsel, insurance companies and government agencies to manage HFHI’s international risk management and insurance program
– Work with affiliates of HFHI to provide legal resources and education
Required Skills:
– Bachelor?s and master?s degrees required
– 10+ years of experience, including expertise in one or more of the following areas: general corporate, risk/litigation management, employment, real estate, or transactional matters
– Ability to handle a wide range of matters, exercise good judgment, be process oriented with a positive outlook , a strong work ethic and an even-keeled demeanor
– Candidates must be comfortable in a global, humanitarian and Christian-based organization
