The Law&Crime Network, the go-to site for live trials, crime and legal news, is seeking a producer/editor. The producer will get the unique opportunity for lots of hands on experience including editing/writing packages, line producing, and helping shape the content on our network. The Network, founded by ABC’s Dan Abrams, is quickly becoming the go-to place for the most high profile criminal trials going on across the country.
Required duties:
- Selecting and editing sound bites from courtroom trials, either independently or under the direction of the executive producer;
- MUST have video editing experience, Adobe a plus
- Editing other elements of the broadcast, including VOs, PKGs, and the broadcast’s cold open, depending on daily editorial needs, with strict attention to visual construction standards of broadcast video editing;
- Creating topical graphic elements for the broadcast, depending on daily editorial needs;
- Assist the executive producer in checking CGs and video elements prior to broadcast;
Preferred qualities:
- Experience covering criminal trials and/or an interest in true crime programming;
- Experience generating branded broadcast segments.
- Experience under deadline pressure, and breaking news coverage
