The Johnson County Law Library seeks to fill an opening for an Assistant to the Law Librarian. Duties include:

Manages financial accounts using Quicken; updates and reconciles financial accounting database; reconciles credit card deposits; prepares checks each month to pay invoices; prepares bank deposits and accounts payable; prepares monthly budget reports for director and board of trustees; assists with budget planning.

Develops and maintains EOS catalog and circulation patron records; updates or deletes old records; imports new catalog records; resolves cataloging problems; labels and barcodes materials; shelf reads; orders books and materials; imports JIMS patron data into EOS circulation database.

Manages attorney registration database; maintains registered attorney records on JIMS system; obtains file download of attorneys who must register from Supreme Court; coordinates annual registration mailings and database updates.

Provides reference and information; conducts reference interview to determine user’s legal information need; answers legal reference questions; assists users with locating and using materials in the law library; recommends library research materials to users; instructs users on the use of online legal research databases and the Internet; refers users to appropriate staff members, departments, or agencies; assists users in operating copy machines and collects copy fees.

Assists in directing library staff, development of policy and procedure, and special projects; assists Director as needed.
