We are seeking an assistant editor to join our Third-Party Content Team in New York City.
The assistant editor is responsible for helping produce daily articles written by subject matter experts spanning diverse legal practice specialties . Duties include but are not limited to daily article formatting and copyediting; executing publishing licenses; communicating with authors and PR agencies; researching news topics and potential authors; and assisting with coverage of a range of different beats.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1 year of journalism experience
- Undergraduate degree or higher in journalism, English or related field
- Experience working on deadline in a breaking news environment
- Strong writing and editing skills, including firm grasp of AP Style
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a small team of editors
- Understanding of legal industry and law firm culture is a plus
Qualified candidates will be asked to complete writing and editing tests electronically.
Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal editing experience is preferred but not required. However, professional reporting experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.
