The National Library of Australia is seeking an experienced Knowledge Management Assistant Director to fill the role of EL1 in the Knowledge and Website Management Section of our Digital Branch.
To be the right contender for this role, you need to be a seasoned and suitably qualified Information Technology professional with experience implementing enterprise software, to help lead and support this team.
Your intellectual rigour, client focused approach and ability to manage competing demands will be complemented by excellent communication skills and a personal style that engenders trust and respect.
The Assistant Director, Knowledge Management role will lead the design, development and maintenance of applications with an enterprise user base in mind and provide in-depth knowledge and expert technical advice and direction on enterprise-level digital capability for a range of web-based library systems and projects.
You will make a significant contribution to the identification of innovation and business improvement strategies. You will provide strategic direction of your area of responsibility including:
• Developing a Knowledge Management policy and approach (including a Governance Framework).
• Implementing solutions and delivering services to the Library.
• Developing and providing training and support to internal stakeholders including your team and colleagues.
• Prepare documentation, correspondence and reports conforming to legal and procedural requirements, with emphasis on procurement and decision briefs.
This may necessitate the effective management of competing priorities and include activities relevant to:
• records management
• managing structured, semi-structured and unstructured data and supporting systems such as SharePoint (or equivalent)
• employee and user experience (UX/EX)
• outsourcing arrangements
• contract and license management.
- You must hold qualifications or equivalent experience in information management, the implementation of enterprise digital strategies and tools, or a related field.
- You will hold Scrum qualifications.
- You will provide a specialist expertise regarding the program, project and service delivery of enterprise knowledge and/or information management in an agile manner.
