Asset Management Lawyer
Salary: Very competitive salary
Location: Hong Kong

Description
My client is looking for a lawyer to join its busy Investment Management Legal team based in Hong Kong which provides a full range of legal support and assistance to its thriving asset management business in the Asia (ex-Japan) region.

The lawyer should expect a wide variety of predominantly asset management assignments around the region, including assistance with the development, structuring and maintenance of an exciting and diverse range of investment products and strategies across all asset classes. The legal team also handles corporate and general commercial work commensurate with the needs of a substantial international business with a dedicated infrastructure and operating platform.

Qualifications
You should be a qualified lawyer with proven experience in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate should have solid legal and regulatory knowledge of the international asset management industry and of investment products for retail and/or institutional markets, including alternative asset classes such as real estate, infrastructure, private equity or hedge funds, gained from a leading international law firm, investment bank or asset management company.

English language skill is essential and proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (especially Mandarin) will undoubtedly be an advantage – preference is likely to be given to candidates who can draft and negotiate Chinese language documents. You should be commercially aware and attuned to the needs of a global business, be able to work independently and have a collaborative and client-enabling approach to the provision of legal support.
