Asian Law and Economics Association Call For Papers For 2011 Annual Meeting


The Asian Law and Economics Association (AsLEA) 2011 Annual Meeting will be held at the University of Hong Kong on 8 and 9 (Friday and Saturday) July 2011.

The conference is intended to encourage research in various areas of Law and Economics, without restriction to issues related to Asia. Any topic advancing economic understanding of law and related areas of public policy and regulation, including constitutional and administrative law, procedural law, commercial law, corporate and financial law, economic and competition law, criminal law etc., is welcome.

Those who are interested in presenting a paper (or papers) are invited to submit an abstract or a
completed paper. Submissions should be in English, and should be sent electronically in pdf or Word format, as an attachment to an email message addressed to Dr. Jing Leng, Secretary of AsLEA at aslea2011@gmail.com.

The submission deadline for papers or abstracts is 15 April 2011. Authors of submitted papers will be notified by 15 May 2010 as to whether their paper has been accepted for the conference. Papers presented at the conference are invited to be submitted to a conference volume to be published by the AsLEA journal, the Asian Journal of Law and Economics. Those who are interested in being considered for publication in the special issue must submit a completed paper and express their interest when they submit it.

Two keynote speakers have agreed to speak at the conference:
Eric Maskin (2007 Nobel Laureate in Economics; Princeton IAS) and Katharina Pistor (Columbia Law School).
