Annual Conference, 27 June 27 – 1 July (hybrid, University of Reading)

The conference runs from 27-28 June (fully online) and 30 June to 1 July (hybrid at Reading University). You can now choose to attend in person for either of the two days we are at Reading University to hear the plenaries, keynotes and legal updates, and combine this with plenty of networking.

Day tickets offer an alternative to our residential packages, which are still available and selling fast. You can see all available ticket options on our website.

During the conference, we will cover many of the multiple faces of environmental law, but the thread that runs through the week is this: how is environmental law addressing the big environmental issues facing society, and how do we, UKELA members active in environmental law, use this knowledge in our own professions.

We are based at the Whiteknights campus at the university, which is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland. The campus has won 11 consecutive Green Flag awards, recognising it as one of Britain’s top green spaces. Famous for the climate stripes, created by Prof Ed Hawkins at the university in 2018, which show how the planet is heating, stripe by stripe, in one striking image, Reading University is surely the perfect place for UKELA members to meet and debate once again!
