Here’s the press release…
Angus F. Ni has been named to succeed me as chair of the Asian Affairs Committee at the New York City Bar, as of September 1. Angus is an extraordinary young lawyer, born and raised in China, a veteran of the Canadian army, a graduate of the University of Chicago’s Law School and most recently an associate attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP while serving as Secretary of this committee.
The committee is soliciting applicants to serve for its 2016-2017 term. While the Committee’s purview covers all of Asia, it also leads the City Bar’s efforts to maintain professional and cultural ties to China. As a part of its a mission, the committee monitors China’s ongoing legal, economic, and political reforms, and hosts events to educate the New York legal community on current issues related to China. Committee members will have opportunities to network and study China-centric topics at monthly meetings, and will have the ability to marshal the City Bar’s resources to host events, seminars, and conduct outreach/advocacy efforts on current China-related subjects. The committee’s recent letters and reports are available here.
Existing membership in the City Bar is required to apply to join the Committee. Interested applicants should apply directly at http://services.nycbar.org/Members/Committee_Join.aspx
Many thanks.
Mark
