“As the Greater China market develops, firms operating and investing in the region are facing a new set of challenges. It is crucial that investors have the information required to make good investment decisions and that companies are able to operate to global standards in order to be competitive, both in operational efficiency and in achieving strong growth targets. We’re also seeing situations where companies have not adapted quickly enough and are experiencing financial distress, and therefore need support to ensure a successful turnaround,” said Oliver Stratton, Managing Director and Head of A&M’s business in Asia.
A&M also announced that it has appointed two new team members to its Greater China team: Lei Wang as Senior Director and Eric Wang as Director, both of whom are based in Beijing. A&M expects to grow its Beijing-based team significantly over the coming 12 months.
“A&M’s commitment to Asia and expansion to Beijing are integral parts of our global strategy and reflect the needs of our clients. These include Asian businesses, multinationals and investors requiring a combination of operational and financial know-how to help them grow and remain competitive,” said Tony Alvarez II, Co-CEO of A&M.
The A&M Greater China team has significant experience built up over decades of working closely with clients in China, in interim roles as well as in an advisory capacity, to address a broad range of issues including M&A strategy and due diligence, growth, performance improvement, forensic investigations, operational turnarounds and financial restructuring.
Lei Wang, Senior Director, has more than 12 years of business experience and has served clients in China and throughout Asia across a number of sectors, including banking, insurance, energy, high tech, telecommunications, retail, transportation and healthcare. Before joining A&M, Mr. Wang was a core member of McKinsey & Company’s Business Technology Office, based in Beijing. Prior to McKinsey, Mr. Wang served in various technology and consulting roles at IBM China.
Eric Wang, Director, has more than 16 years of experience in business consulting, engineering and general management. Before joining A&M, Mr. Wang was a founding partner at The Blue Planet Group where he focused on providing supply chain management and product development services to multinational companies. Prior to this, Mr. Wang held senior management roles in China at a variety of companies, including Corporate Express (a Staples company), Beifa Group and Crea-Union Software Company. Mr. Wang started his career in engineering research and then was a management consultant with Bain & Company in the US.
