Following an exhausting research process involving a record number of submissions from law firms and in-house legal departments, ALB is proud to announce the finalists for the ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2011, the most important event on SE Asia’s legal calendar.

As the Asian energy boom goes into overdrive, the hotly contested ?Energy & Resources Law firm of the year? category sees Baker & McKenzie, Gibson Dunn, Herbert Smith, Hogan Lovells, Linklaters Allen & Gledhill and Norton Rose jostle with last year?s winner in this category, Latham & Watkins, for the top spot.

WongPartnership?s ex-managing partner? Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara retired last year, going out with the proverbial bang after taking home the prize for managing partner of the year 2010. His successor, Rachel Eng is a finalist this year. Other managing partners up for a gong include James Harris (Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee), Stephen McWilliam (Latham & Watkins), Kevin Wong (Linklaters Allen & Gledhill), Mohan Pillay (Pinsent Masons MPillay), Martin Green (Stephenson Harwood) and Chris Lowe (Watson, Farley & Williams).

The Awards attracts hundreds of SE Asia’s most influential solicitors, in-house counsel, investment bankers, judiciary and CEOs, who assemble to celebrate with the winners as they accept their awards on stage.

Now in its seventh successful year, the awards recognizes the excellence and outstanding achievements of Southeast Asia?s leading law firms and in-house legal teams, as well as the top deals and dealmakers of 2011.The event is the culmination of the months of intensive research. Winners remain confidential until the awards ceremony itself, where they are revealed over a gala black-tie dinner.
