AALL: eLEARNING – INTRODUCTION TO LAW LIBRARY BUDGETS

This 60-minute course will introduce law library professionals to the budget process and prepare them to ask informed questions about funding, allocations, and how the library supports its strategic goals. The participant guide and the budget case study are additional resources available to you as you go through this course. The course narration is included in the participant guide. They are downloadable from within the course and in the Contents tab. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify and manage competing priorities.
  • Estimate spending and revenue at specific intervals and advocate for your budget.
  • Understand how the library uses budgeting to further its strategic goals in order to connect financial resources and meet performance goals.

TARGET AUDIENCE: 

  • Law librarians and legal information professionals who are new to law library budgets or would like to learn more about budgeting in various law library types.
