A Very Hitchcock Affair: Lawyer Pleads Guilty To Murdering Wife In Shower

The New York Post reports that a Scarsdale lawyer pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree manslaughter in the stabbing death of his wife, a prominent pediatrician in The Bronx, inside their mansion, officials said.

Julius Reich, 64, faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 15 for killing Dr. Robin Goldman, 58, in 2016, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

He had originally been charged with second-degree murder, a felony, and misdemeanor weapons possession.

Westchester DA Anthony Scarpino said Tuesday that Goldman’s adult children told his office and the court that they sought to avoid the trauma of a trial.

“The children are in complete agreement with the plea of Manslaughter in the First Degree, as such a disposition would make their 64-year-old father accountable for his actions,” Scarpino said in a statement.

“They are relieved their father finally accepted responsibility for his actions and his plea will help them move forward and bring finality to a horrific situation.”

Reich and his wife were living in the same 5,700-square-foot, $3.4 million home on Lincoln Road in Scarsdale’s exclusive Heathcoate neighborhood while going through a divorce.

On the morning of Jan. 20, 2016, Reich entered their upstairs bathroom, where he stabbed Goldman multiple times in the chest, abdomen and back, leaving her blood-soaked body in the shower.

Reich — who was a lawyer for WeiserMazars in Hamilton Heights — later called 911 and police arrested him at the scene.
