A leading international law firm has a new vacancy for a Librarian to work on a part-time basis

A leading international law firm has a new vacancy for a Librarian to work on a part-time basis (3 days per week) in their offices in Northern Ireland. The main focus of the role is to provide contract negotiation support to other members of the team and colleagues across the firm. The successful candidate will also be responsible for collection management duties.

 

Specifics of the role include:

 

  • Liaising between colleagues and vendors regarding the purchase of online products
  • Negotiating and agreeing contractual terms relating to online purchases
  • Working with finance to ensure correct procedures are adhered to regarding business cases to support purchases
  • Analysing usage data to articulate patterns, changes and opportunities
  • Managing the online budget
  • Cataloguing and classifying print and electronic resources
  • Managing special collections
  • Acquisitions
  • Providing current awareness

 

In order to be considered for this role candidates should have:

 

  • At least 3+ years’ experience in a similar position with responsibility for contract management
  • Experience of library processes and management (in particular cataloguing)
  • Creative and confident negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to successfully liaise with internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Experience of using automated library management systems, SharePoint and eBooks and journals (preferable)
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic and flexible approach
