The bulldog lawyer, as Moore is known, takes his pooch everywhere but to court. That includes his law office, where toys are scattered on the carpeting for easy pick-up games of fetch, as well as outdoor dining areas at restaurants, coffee shops, Rockford City Market, out on dates and in his motorcycle sidecar as they tool around downtown.
“I took him on dates and realized he’s stealing the women away so I can’t do that,” Moore quipped.
Moore has had various types of bulldogs for 28 years, namely three English bulldogs and two French bulldogs, before adopting Wizzo. Moore was inspired to adopt the bulldog mascot for himself and his firm because of his love for the breeds and the traits they represent.
“I had the dogs before I started the firm and realized it was a good moniker,” said Moore, known for his bulldog lawyer commercials. “They’ve always been used as symbols of loyalty, protection, defense. They’re not aggressive, but protective. They protect people.”
