CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A federal court in North Carolina granted LexisNexis and the consumers suing it their request for a protective order that will protect confidential information during discovery in this class action over LexisNexis and two similar firms’ alleged widespread violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Users say the legal services firms sold a product that allowed buyers to access extremely detailed reports of consumers’ identities and behaviors.
