Howard County police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man with Saturday’s double shooting in Columbia that left one person with life-threatening injuries, the department said Wednesday.
Tarik Parker Dorsey, of Overheart Lane in Columbia, was arrested Tuesday in Parkville and is charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said; he is also charged with weapon violations.
Police said officers responded to the 5600 block of Cedar Lane just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
After arriving at the scene, police said they discovered a group of people had gathered to shoot a music video when a male suspect in the group opened fire for an unknown reason before fleeing the scene. Through investigation, police said they were able to identify Dorsey as the suspect.
