The Role

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving knowledge management strategy and operations across Gilbert + Tobin and with clients. Reporting to the Head of Legal Service Innovation and managing a team of Knowledge Lawyers, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and fine-tuning strategy and policy in line with business objectives and in close consultation with the Head of Legal Service Innovation and Knowledge Partners.
  • Managing specific knowledge, innovation and quality projects requiring close liaison and project co-management with IT, Marketing/BD, HR, Library and practice groups.
  • Consulting widely with partners and lawyers to establish ongoing knowledge needs and setting manageable expectations.
  • Communicating knowledge and innovation initiatives to practice groups, partners and the firm.
  • Convening and chairing meetings of the Knowledge Partner group.
  • Facilitating regular Knowledge meetings to ensure consistency of policy and content development across the firm.

About you

The successful candidate should have a proven track record in the Knowledge Management space, this may have been gained in Law Practice or broader professional services. You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and influencing skills matched with a strong innovation mindset;
  • Experience using knowledge management technologies;
  • Strong people management and leadership skills;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Strong drafting skills, including an understanding of Plain English drafting;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment and juggle numerous tasks;
  • Energetic and enthusiastic.
