Substantial Hong Kong High Court victory for Edward Lehman and Lehman Lee & Xu
Edward Lehman succeeded on appeal in quashing an erroneous judgment, emerging victorious in a spurious and groundless legal battle pursued by a former business partner.
On appeal, the higher court found that Mr. Lehman had not in fact violated any injunction as found by the lower court, and thus was found not guilty. Accordingly, the former judgment and sentence were vacated set aside less than a year after the incorrect judgment.
As had been reported in various venues, a judgment, now discredited, dated 12 July 2012 in Hong Kong found Mr. Edward Eugene Lehman, guilty of contempt of court and sentenced him to a term of 6 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 2 years. What has not been widely reported is that this finding of contempt was vacated on appeal in a judgment dated 22 March 2013. Upon receiving the receiving the High Court’s decision, Mr. Lehman stated, “I’m grateful and humbled by the thorough and complete application of law by the Hong Kong High Court in the appeal process”.
