We are looking for a long term (6-9 months) contractor to assist with some of the administrative functions of support in the law firm’s communications group. We need someone with the communications experience who will be able to work with the members of the firm including the communications and marketing & BD team and lawyers. She/he will work closely with the existing communications managers and the creative team in the U.S. The communications team is responsible for the development and management of the firm’s brand standards, and the design and production of marketing collateral materials and other promotion materials for external and internal use.

Communications Manager:

• Champion best practices in delivering high-impact marketing communications materials aimed at clients, potential clients, recruits, and internal audiences.

• Support Law Firm’s brand, message, visual identity system, and tone of voice across the Americas.

• Work with M&BD practice group, industry sector leaders, and the campaigns team to identify specific marketing communications needs based on their strategic plans.

• Deliver a marketing communications environment focused on high standards of quality control.

• Directly manage and actively contribute to major firm publications and marketing communications materials.

• Actively engage with digital media and public relations colleagues in the Americas and globally to support broader profile raising activities.

• Co-manage the day to day delivery of marketing communications materials in the Americas.

• Liaise with partners and other members of the M&BD team on the delivery of marketing communications materials.

• Manage the use of external design and copywriting agencies and freelancers.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum eight to ten years of marketing communications experience required. Law firm or in-depth professional services experience required.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proactive approach to marketing communications, utilizing strategy, planning, and execution skills

• Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision

• Effective interpersonal and team working skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

• Understanding of legal and business concepts or the ability to learn them quickly

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Knowledge of design software (InDesign)

• BA or BS in communications or related field is helpful; Master’s degree a plus.

HOURS

Core Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. Must be flexible to work additional hours.
