Legal information and solutions provider, Thomson Reuters is pleased to announce that commencing with the May 2016 issue Volume 90 Part 5, the new General Editor of the Australian Law Journal will be the Honourable Justice François Kunc. His Honour succeeds the Honourable Acting Justice Peter Young AO, who retires as the longest serving General Editor of the Journal after 24 years.
The Journal is Australia’s leading national law journal and will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2017.
The Managing Director of Thomson Reuters Legal (Australia & New Zealand), Jackie Rhodes, said: “I want to sincerely thank Acting Justice Peter Young for his long and distinguished service as General Editor of the Australian Law Journal. He has made a remarkable and enduring contribution to legal publishing, practice and discourse in Australia.”

Justice Kunc said “It is a great honour and responsibility to take over as only the eighth General Editor of the Australian Law Journal in its history. The Journal has played an important role in shaping the development and practice of the law in this country. I will be working to ensure that continues in the rapidly changing professional environment of today. The Journal is unique in its position as a legal publication that is regularly read by practitioners, academics and the judiciary.”
