Baltic Sea Region law firm Magnusson is set to open in Hong Kong after entering into an association with local firm Advokatfirman Odebjer Fohlin and bringing partners Kristian Odebjer and Paulo Fohlin on board.
The new office, which will operate under the name “Magnusson in association with Odebjer Fohlin” from Mar. 2 onwards, will focus on advising Chinese clients on their investments in the Baltic Sea Region, and will strengthen the firm’s international arbitration capabilities in Asia.
Magnusson will not advise on Chinese law.
Odebjer and Fohlin, co-founders of Hong Kong firm Odebjer Fohlin, will oversee the new office.

Odebjer specialises in M&A, financings and due diligence, and will co-head Magnusson’s China group. Fohlin, a chartered arbitrator with more than 25 years of court litigation and arbitration experience, will join the firm as head of its international arbitration group.
Both partners are registered as foreign lawyers with the Law Society of Hong Kong.
Magnusson’s Hong Kong office will be its first in Asia. The firm currently employs about 200 lawyers across 13 offices in the Baltic Sea Region.
