Baker & McKenzie announced today that Poh Lee Tan has been elected the new Managing Partner of the Firm?s Hong Kong, China and Vietnam offices.? Poh Lee will succeed David Fleming, who has held the position since 2001.
Ms. Tan has held a number of significant Firm management roles, including being a member of the Firm?s Global Executive Committee from October 2005 to October 2010.? She also served as the Chairman of the Firm?s Asia Pacific Regional Council from October 2008 to October 2010.
Ms. Tan joined the Firm?s Hong Kong office in 1985 and became an equity partner in 1992.? Her practice focuses on M&A and Private Equity transactions in the Asia Pacific region, with particular emphasis on the information technology and communications sector.? Ms. Tan has a breadth of experience representing multinational clients seeking to invest in Asia as well as on complex cross-border multijurisdictional transactions.? She has advised and structured transactions in various countries in the region, including Hong Kong, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and United Kingdom.? She has been consistently named a leading lawyer in Hong Kong by various legal and industry directories, including Chambers Asia, Asia Pacific Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer?.
Ms. Tan graduated from London School of Economics with a LL.B and from Cambridge University, Queen's College with a LL.M.? She is admitted to practice in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australian Capital Territory and England & Wales.
