Following is the description for the 10/28 Cultural Issues program:
This program will explore and discuss the cross-cultural differences that exist in the international law practice setting and provide useful guidance to avoid miscommunications and gaffes caused by lack of understanding of such differences. The panel will touch upon the topics of traditions, customs and practices as found in cultures and subcultures around the world and how these can impact interactions with foreign clients, foreign attorneys and foreign opposing parties. The panelists will specifically discuss certain cross-cultural differences that exist with cultures and subcultures from China, Japan and some European and Latin American countries.
