The Nairobi City County Government has established a multi-sectoral taskforce to review the implementation of the Nairobi City County Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2026, following concerns raised by players in the betting and gaming industry.
The 13-member taskforce was established through Gazette Notice No. 14177 and brings together representatives from the county government and the Association of Gaming Operators Kenya (AGOK).
The move follows a consultative meeting chaired by the Nairobi Governor and attended by representatives of AGOK, where the two sides agreed to establish a taskforce to address concerns surrounding the implementation of the new law.
According to the Gazette Notice uploaded on Saturday, September 5, 2026, on Kenya Law website, the taskforce will provide a platform for engagement between the county government and industry stakeholders.
