Korea: Law & Company Launches Legal E-book Subscription Service BigCase Library

Law&Company said on the 26th that it has launched BigCase Library, an e-book subscription service for legal books. It is the first product to offer legal books exclusively in e-book subscription form.

BigCase Library provides legal books across a range of fields online, including civil law, criminal law, administrative law and constitutional law. A key feature is keyword search, which lets users quickly find the information they need. In June this year, Law&Company signed a 10-year exclusive content agreement with Parkyoung Publishing, a publisher specializing in legal books. Under the deal, some 600 books published by Parkyoung have been added to BigCase Library. The company also adopted Synap Document Viewer from Synapsoft, a document artificial intelligence (AI) firm, to offer a reading experience similar to that of paper books.

Going forward, Law&Company plans to update BigCase Library so that it connects with BigCase, allowing users to quickly check court precedents, statutes and legal document templates. Combined with SuperLawyer, Law&Company’s flagship legal AI service, it will offer a user experience optimized for legal information research across the entire process, from legal research to document drafting.

Kim Bon-hwan, CEO of Law&Company, said, “Going forward, we will strengthen the links between our services so that BigCase Library is useful throughout the entire legal workflow, including legal information searches, legal review and document drafting.”
