An Ikeja High Court has convicted a fake lawyer John Nwawuto Anoruo, 55, for impersonation and using a forged Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) seal to represent himself as a lawyer.
A vacation judge, Justice A.M. Lawal, on Tuesday convicted and sentenced Anoruo, after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge bordering on impersonation and fraudulent use of a counterfeit NBA seal.
The court fined the convict N270,000 and ordered the forfeiture of his lawyer’s attire and the forged seal to the Federal Government through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
