Good Afternoon,
We have a vacancy for a Research Librarian (6 month maternity cover
contract) in our Library & Research Centre (LRC) on Chancery Lane.
The position is to work as part of a team of four to provide library and
information services to internal clients. The Research Librarian will have
responsibility for distribution of serials, maintaining circulation lists and liaising
with suppliers over subscriptions and missing parts.
In addition, you will undertake some enquiry work, interrogation of databases
to compile client related newsletters and bulletins, current awareness and
participation in LRC run training sessions, along with project work as required.
The position will also provide support for business development projects, as
well as some administrative duties for the team.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, organisational and multi-tasking
skills, along with the desire to learn. Sound IT skills and experience of
Westlaw, Lawtel and PLC are desirable, although training will be given on all
legal databases and the library management system, KnowAll.
Applicants should be library qualified or have equivalent experience. Previous
law firm or legal background would be advantageous.
