A woman lawyer was admitted to the Thalassery General Hospital with injuries after she was allegedly assaulted on the premises of the Thalassery Family Court on Monday afternoon (May 18).
The lawyer, P.V. Sony, was reportedly attacked by a private college teacher from Vilakkottur, identified as K.P. Divakaran, while she was standing outside the counselling hall of the court. Ms. Sony had appeared in court on behalf of Divakaran’s wife in a divorce case.
The Thalassery police later took Divakaran, who too had sought treatment at the hospital, into custody.
