A LAWYER has quit her job to become a scaffolder — and she’s almost doubled her salary.
Mollie Pollard, 33, said she struggled to live on her pay after seven years in the legal industry.
Mollie, who is paying off a £45,000 student debt, claimed she was putting “blood, sweat and tears” into her legal job but getting nothing.
In January last year she joined her husband, Tom, at a scaffolding company near her home in Uttoxeter, Staffs.
She said: “I was earning £42,000 a year at the end but for years it was £32,000. In my new job I’ve had a 75 per cent increase on what I was earning.
“I struggled to live on that wage. If I wasn’t with Tom, I couldn’t have moved out from my parents’ house.”
