Company Profile
Our client is one of the world?s largest financial services giants with strengths in insurance, fund management, pension funds as well as personal financial advisory services. They are expanding and are currently looking to build up their legal & compliance function in Singapore.
The position sits in Singapore and reports to the Head of Legal and Compliance for Singapore.
Some of the key job responsibilities are :
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the legal and regulatory risk of the company.
Provide legal & compliance advice to various departments.
Develop and review an overall compliance framework which includes supporting the departments in their design of control policies and procedures.
Assist the Management in understanding regulations, industry and other statutory requirements, including maintaining a compliance matrix and providing timely update of any relevant changes in regulatory or statutory requirements.
Assist on anti-money laundering function and necessary compliance reporting.
Assist in legal review of all operational, distribution agreements of the company including review of the policy contracts, product summaries and other marketing collaterals.
Perform duties as and when required by the Head of Legal & Compliance and / or Head of Corporate Office.
To qualify for this role, the ideal candidate would have :
Minimum 3 years PQE.
Qualified lawyer in any common law jurisdiction will be an advantage.
Experienced legal and/or regulatory advisor in a law firm or commercial sector, preferably with a financial institution.
Good working knowledge in corporate law, regulatory and compliance issues.
Highly analytical and independent, with excellent written and communication skillsAbility to track and follow-up on status of reports to relevant Committees
Good negotiation and inter-personal skills
