You will be leading the provision of high quality legal advice and services to the Region ensuring legal risks are identified, prioritized and resourced to protect the business and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory obligations, requirements and standards.
Key Accountabilities
As a member of the leadership team, contribute to the development and achievement of the business strategy and performance targets for the business.
Providing expert legal advice, services and guidance, either directly or through external providers, on all aspects of law, to ensure the business remains compliant at all times.
Ensuring the legal aspects of corporate transactions and/or restructuring exercises are managed correctly; up to and including: leading negotiations, co-ordinating the provision of external advice, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and Stock Exchange rules and Group? requirements.
Managing disputes and issues of litigation to ensure Group / regional/local business interests are protected and potential loss and damages are mitigated.
Ensuring regional intellectual property, confidential information and other material interests are legally protected.
Candidate Profile
Proven Asia Pacific experience in legal and compliance management role within a financial institution
Robust approach in building strong working relationships with the regional and global management team
Articulate issues in a clear and concise manner whilst ensuring a commercial approach is maintained
Knowledge of and experience in dealing with regulatory bodies
Strong organisational and project management skills
Travelling is a requirement for this role
