(September 29, 2025) – A national dog food bakery and grooming franchise has filed a lawsuit seeking a judicial declaration that its franchise plans do not infringe a St. Louis pet shop’s alleged trademark rights.
Woof Gang Bakery Inc. v. WolfgangPet Stop LLC, No. 25-cv-1862, complaint filed (M.D. Fla. Sept. 25, 2025).
Woof Gang Bakery Inc. filed its lawsuit Sept. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, accusing Wolfgang’s Pet Stop LLC of making “frivolous and bad faith allegations of trademark infringement” to deter competition.
The suit says Wolfgang’s has no registered trademark rights and that its threats have already stalled discussions for a second Woof Gang store in the greater St. Louis area.
Woof Gang, an Orlando, Florida-based company, is the franchisor of a national chain of more than 350 specialty retail pet stores that provide pet grooming, food and supplies.
The complaint says its “Woof Gang” and “Woof Gang Bakery” federally registered marks are famous and nationally recognized.
