BIALL’s Professional Development Committee is pleased to announce the running of the next in-person Legal Reference Materials course, at Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, 17 Russell Square, London on 5th September 2025.
The aim of the course is to introduce you to the structure of the legal system in the UK and use of key legal information sources. The course covers the theory of the English legal system, legislation, case law and practical legal research experience.
The course will be run by Jackie Hanes, Academic Support Librarian at the University of Warwick, and Robert Turner, Senior Information Officer at Bristows LLP.
The cost will be £150 (+VAT) for BIALL members, £190 (+VAT) for non-members. The day’s schedule for the event is available on the BIALL website.
A bursary will also be available (further information to follow).
