LexisNexis Legal & Professional has in the past day reshared on social media the news that the Federal Judiciary has awarded LexisNexis with a seven-year contract to provide US Federal Judiciary judges, support staff, and other employees with enterprise-wide, access to Lexis’ primary legal; secondary legal; news, business and journals; people and public records content; and analytics information and insights. The contract also gives the Federal Judiciary access to GenAI tool Lexis+ AI.
This contract was in fact awarded last year but for no good reason largely went under the radar. Legal IT Insider did, however, cover a similar, more recent judiciary win announcement by Thomson Reuters. This is therefore an important ICYMI: the judiciary now has access to both of these competing GenAI systems.
