The next edition of the ‘Meet the Nature Crime Alliance’ webinar series will feature presentations from WWF and the Environmental Investigation Agency, alongside an overview of a new report and suite of resources produced by the Alliance Secretariat.
These webinars bring the Nature Crime Alliance network together to learn more about its members and share insights and information between organisations. They are open to all – not just Alliance members.
Marcello De Maria, Project Manager, WWF-UK, will discuss WWF’s recently-launched Environmental Crimes Financial Toolkit – an online platform that assists financial institutions in monitoring risks related to nature crimes such as illegal deforestation, land conversion, and wildlife trafficking.
Julian Newman, Campaigns Director, and Kate Klikis, Forests Campaigner, Environmental Investigation Agency UK, will highlight the illegal trade in Myanmar teak, drawing on case studies from EIA investigations to illustrate the international impact of this issue.
Tsveti Bandakova, Programme Manager, Nature Crime Alliance Secretariat, will provide a preview of a new suite of resources that have been developed by the Alliance team to support members’ activities in tackling nature crime.
Additionally, Charles ‘Chip’ Barber, Director of the Nature Crime Alliance, will also share highlights from WRI’s forthcoming report, ‘People, Planet, Justice: Understanding and Countering Nature Crime’.
