For anyone looking for a long weekend away, connecting with others interested in wild law, why not join us in Wales from Friday 3 May to Monday 6 May for this year’s Wild Law Weekend?
We will be staying in a private eco cabin at the Centre for Alternative Technology in mid-Wales for three nights. This year we explore the theme of how the monetisation of nature interacts with rights of nature with a mixture of talks, a visit to a local site and the option to hike in the spectacular local countryside.
Here is what is included:
- Friday evening: arrive at CAT (via group minibus from Telford Central train station or independently) in time for dinner followed by an update on legal developments regarding rights of nature.
- Saturday: visit a local site where the practical impacts of monetising ecosystem restoration can be seen; return to CAT late afternoon for a panel discussion, followed by dinner.
- Sunday: a day to explore the local area – likely an option to climb Cadar Idris or join a low level walk; return to CAT for dinner and a post-dinner presentation.
- Monday: travel home (minibus from CAT to Telford Central train station for onward train travel or independent travel).
The weekend will cost £235 per person. This includes 3 nights accommodation in the eco-cabins which are a mixture of twin and 4-person bunk rooms and minibus transport. The weekend is fully catered (starting with dinner on Friday and ending with a packed lunch on Monday).
