As kidnapping is fast becoming a routine in Abuja and its environs, the kidnap of a senior lawyer and member of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA), Keffi Branch, Garba Armi Esq, on Monday night has sent more shock waves around the legal community.
Garba Armi like Chris Agidy, Esq., who was taken from his home at Galadimawa area of Federal Capital Territory the (FCT), and who is yet to return home, was carried off from his house at Angwa Kare Keffi Nasarawa State, near the FCT.
BarristerNG.com reports that the armed Kidnappers stormed the senior lawyer’s house at Angwa Kare Keffi at about 11:30 pm in the night and whisked him away amid flurry of gunshots.
Speaking to BarristerNG.com, the Chairman of NBA Keffi branch, Barrister Nuhu Igya, disclosed that the kidnappers called Armi’s family Tuesday morning and demanded a ransom of Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000.00) for his release.
Condemning the incident and rise in kidnapping, Nuhu Igyaa urged Security agencies to ensure his safe return.
