Director, Law Library Cleveland State University

Cleveland State University College of Law is searching for a Law Library Director. The Library Director is responsible for all aspects of law library administration, including the selection and retention of staff; collection development; library services; budget; policies; and planning. As a tenure-eligible member of the Law Faculty, the Director will have the opportunity to teach and fully participate in faculty governance. The Law Library Director reports directly to the Dean of the College of Law. The start date is negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. from ABA accredited law school;
  • Master in Library Science or equivalent degree;
  • At least two years of experience in library administration,
  • A strong commitment to excellence in satisfying the research and information needs of faculty, students, and other library patrons such as practicing lawyers, alumni, and the general public; and,
  • A minimum of four years of professional experience that evidences growing responsibility as a law librarian or law library administrator.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in administrative duties including:
      • Negotiating pricing with vendors
      • Reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts
      • Oversight of facilities projects
      • Managing a budget
      • Managing staff

     

  • Demonstrated service to the law library profession in a leadership capacity; and
  • Experience in designing and teaching online courses using a learning management system.
