Heidi Klum is embroiled in a legal fight with her estranged father over the trademarking of her daughter’s name.
According to The Mirror, cosmetics executive Günther Klum, 75, has trademarked 17-year old Leni Olumi Klum’s name, causing potential issues with her career as a model. He has also reportedly trademarked Leni’s nickname “Mausekatze” — meaning mousecat.
“Should Günther Klum violate the rights of third parties he will be threatened with an injunction which, if granted, will cost him €250,000 (approx. $395,400) or six months of jail,” German lawyer Stephan Ruben told Bild newspaper.
Günther has posted several documents on his Instagram page. In one post, he mocks the possibility of a prison sentence.
“Who will send me the cake with the baked-in file?” the post was captioned.
“So far there is no injunction but the lawyers threatened him with it,” Ruben added. “That’s why he sent a letter (posted on his Instagram) and wrote ‘you are even threatening me with jail time.'”
