This is what the letter says – and you have to love the Justice’s name !

We are delighted to invite you to a very special event at the High Court of Hong Kong on Tuesday 27 May 2014, which is kindly being hosted by the Hon Mr Justice Barnabas Fung, Judge of the High Court and Charterhouse parent.

This will be a chance for OCs and their spouses/partners, parents of current and former pupils, current Carthusians, and other members of the Charterhouse community in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region to meet and network – whether or not you are working in the law, or are interested in a career in this field.  We will be joined by several members of the Hong Kong Board, who are helping to organise this event on the School’s behalf.

There will be presentations in one of the courtrooms by eminent OCs and Charterhouse parents on the subject of “The future of the legal professions in Hong Kong: the next generation of solicitors, barristers, and judges”, followed by a chance to ask the speakers questions.  We will then enjoy a drinks reception and a three-course dinner together in the Judges’ Mess at the High Court.  The Chairman of the School’s Governing Body, Simon Robinson, will welcome guests at the dinner.

The ticket price is HK$500 per head (or HK$350 for those aged under 35).  We particularly encourage current Carthusians to attend this event with their parents, as some pupils will be back home during this Exeat week.  Space in the Judges’ Mess is limited, so we ask you to book as soon as possible; all bookings will be acknowledged by email.
