Sheep refuses to testify in shagger case
A Dutch court has released a man caught having sex with a sheep, after the sheep couldn't prove its own lack of consent.
A farmer called the police after he saw a man standing trouserless amongst his flock of sheep and allegedly engaged in an unnatural act. 36-year-old Bert Meijer was arrested and charged but the case was thrown out of court because the sheep couldn't give evidence.
It seems that, under Dutch law, bestiality is only illegal if it can be proved that the animal is an unwilling accomplice. No, really. Since the sheep couldn't prove she hadn't been gagging for it the man walked free. It wouldn't happen in Sudan.
The farmer told the press that he was upset with the judgement and claimed that the sex had clearly been non-consensual, "I know my sheep and can tell the animal was traumatised". The sheep declined to comment. |
