One of the original foreign lawyers in Cambodia, Brett negotiated the first foreign investment in 1993 for a $60 million brewery. He continues to provide professional advice on numerous investment projects and is very active in the business community as Chairman of American Chamber in Cambodia, International Business Chamber and the Co-Chair of the Working Group on Law, Tax and Governance, comprised of private sector and government members who resolve issues of concern to the business community. Patrick brings a wealth of experience and has worked extensively across a broad array of practice areas with a specialization in the Banking and Finance sector as both in-house counsel and in private practice throughout Southeast Asia, Japan and the UK. Patrick has advised global investment banks, commercial banks, IFIs, microfinance institutions, securities companies, insurance companies and other multi-national corporations on a broad range of matters including project finance, bilateral and syndicated loans, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, structured finance, OTC derivatives, trade finance, securitization, M&A, financial leasing and insurance. Patrick is admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria as a Barrister and Solicitor and holds an LL.B. and BA (Hons) from Monash University, Victoria.
