International law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has added to its intellectual property team in China with the hire of Yufeng (Ethan) Ma as a partner at its Shanghai office.
Prior to joining Orrick, Ma served as Director of Intellectual Property, Asia at Corning Inc, an international manufacturer of glass and ceramic.
Ma , we’re told, specialises in advising companies on the intellectual property aspects of strategic transactions, including licensing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and collaborations.
He was previously a partner and member of the board at McAndrews, Held & Malloy in Chicago, and has practised for more than a decade in the U.S. during which he represented both U.S. and Chinese companies in intellectual property matters.
