Legal support for rapidly scaling business and operations of a major IT multinational in China. Having a broad, generalist corporate/commercial and operational background is preferred. Portfolio may include primary responsibility for complex services and solutions deals. There may be additional opportunities to support the Dell PUB and Large Enterprise business unit and corporate projects;
Immersion into and understanding of the business departments that he/she will be supporting. Integration with a global Legal team, including the existing China Legal team;
Initiate and carry projects and work with relative little supervision.
Work with clients and colleagues on processes, infrastructure, legal forms, etc;
Formulate and conduct training of colleagues;
Manage outside counsel in an effective, efficient manner that maximizes value-add;
Conduct legal research (published materials, offline industry feedback, oral inquiries with authorities);
Draft, negotiate, manage legal documents;
Takes a leadership attitude in initiatives to build-up the department, locally and regionally.

Qualifications
Requirements/competencies:
Deep understanding of China corporate/commercial law landscape;
10+ years of practical experience in China corporate/commercial context.
Proactive, takes ownership and responsibility for tasks, drives results. Ability to learn on the fly;
Managing ambiguity of disparate client groups.
Will energetically keep pace with a fast-moving business;
Can marry excellent technical legal skills with control and compliance considerations with results-oriented business needs.
Additional considerations:
Experience and training in an international law firm;
Has managed teams; leadership/teamwork capacity;
Background in the IT industry and in-house experience a plus.
