SLAW Re-Design To Go Live On Sunday
Simon Fodden the publisher of Slaw a leading legal KM, information and generally very useful site writes that as of
Sunday " the site will boast a new design"
He goes on to say.....
The simple aims are two-fold: to speed up loading times and to emphasize readability above all else. Most obviously, you'll
see that the new main page has almost no graphics and does away with some of the Javascript that was slowing things
down. And the font size is large enough to be easily read at a glance. (It's coded in "ems" which means that you can easily
make it bigger or smaller in any browser, and it responds to your default browser font-size settings.)
As well, the design is "fluid and responsive", which means that it adapts itself to the size of your browser window and
for the first time makes Slaw truly readable on smart phones and small tablets.
I'm proud to tell you that I was wise enough to engage the services of the brilliant Laurel Fulford to do the re-design.
She is the brain behind most or all of the webdesign work at Stem Legal, and she's done a wonderful job for Slaw.
You'll notice that for the first time columns and regular blog posts are integrated on the home page in one main stream.
However, we've taken pains to mark columns out as special. A coloured tag will identify each column as such, and there's
a separate menu item so that readers can see in one place the various groups of columns we offer and also the most
recent week's worth of published columns.
Of course, I hope you'll like the redesign. I know you'll find it makes for a more useful Slaw.
