The Practicing Law Institute (PLI), a leading publisher of legal treatises and specialized Course Handbooks has announced that all PLI content will no longer be accessible in Westlaw and WestlawNext. PLI has recently launched its new Discover PLUS eBook platform and intends for that to be the main point of access to the books and other materials that it publishes.

The New York Law Institute continues to respond to changes in legal publishing and remains committed to its mission of providing facilitating access to legal information in various formats.

Many PLI treatises, such as Art Law: The Guide for Collectors, Investors, Dealers, and Artists, Hedge Fund Regulation,  and Working with Contracts: What Law School Doesn’t Teach You, as well as all PLI course handbooks, are available in the NYLI print collection. You can search for them by title in the NYLI online catalog. To retrieve only the results for PLI course handbooks, use the 'Limit this search to' function and select 'NYLI - PLI section' from the Location drop-down menu.

NYLI librarians can also access PLI treatises in Bloomberg Law and use these to assist you with legal research and answer specific reference questions. To ask a reference question, borrow a PLI volume, or request a section or chapter to be e-mailed to you, use a Request Information form, and a NYLI librarian will respond to your request promptly..
